Hair Transplant Repair
Hair Transplant Procedure
Unfortunately, repairing hair transplants performed from outside clinics is becoming more common. We specialise in the removal of, and repair of hair transplant surgery results that patients are not happy with.
What is a bad Hair Transplant?
A successful hair transplant should look natural, with adequate density that seamlessly blends with your existing hair. When these key elements are missing, the result can appear unnatural and unsatisfactory.
There are several ways a hair transplant can go wrong. Poorly designed hairlines that look artificial, incorrect angulation and directionality of hair grafts, low graft survival, or insufficient density can all contribute to an unsightly outcome. In some cases, scarring from outdated techniques or improper placement of grafts can further compromise the result.
However, beyond aesthetics, the most important aspect of a hair transplant is achieving peace of mind. Hair loss can be deeply distressing, and a poorly executed transplant can make it even more frustrating. At Parissis Medical, we specialise in hair transplant repair, helping patients regain confidence by correcting unnatural results and restoring a natural appearance. If you’ve experienced a disappointing hair transplant, we are here to help you achieve the outcome you deserve.
Superior FUE with the WAW DUO FUE System
Dr. Parissis uses the WAW DUO FUE system, an advanced hair transplantation tool developed by Devroye Instruments.
This system features a specialised punch with a slightly flared tip that operates using both rotation and oscillation. This unique design minimises the size of extraction sites—often smaller than the punch itself—while also guiding follicular units smoothly into the lumen, reducing the risk of transection.
The WAW DUO FUE system enhances the precision of extractions, allowing for a higher yield of intact grafts.

How do we repair a Hair Transplant?
Hair transplant repair is a highly individualized process, as every case is different. The best approach depends on the specific issues with the initial procedure and the patient’s desired outcome. However, there are two fundamental methods for repairing a hair transplant:
-
Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) Removal & Redistribution – In cases where poorly placed grafts create an unnatural appearance, we can remove them using FUE. These grafts can then be carefully re-implanted in a more natural location or discarded if they are unsuitable for reuse. This technique is often used for unnatural hairlines, misangled grafts, or excessive density in the wrong areas.
-
Blending with Healthy Hair Grafts – If the existing grafts are salvageable but simply lack density or refinement, we can strategically place new, healthy grafts around them to create a more natural, seamless result. This method is often used when the previous transplant did not provide enough density or when the hairline needs softening.
The choice between these methods—or a combination of both—should be made following a detailed consultation between the patient and the doctor. It is important that your chosen clinic takes the time to assess each case carefully, ensuring that our repair strategy is tailored to achieve the most natural and satisfying result for every patient.
