Understanding the cost of a hair transplant is one of the first steps in planning your treatment. At Parissis Medical, our pricing in London and Richmond, UK is based on the number of grafts required, which is determined during a detailed consultation with Dr. Parissis. Every patient’s hair loss pattern is different, so rather than offering a single flat fee, we provide a transparent, graft-based structure that scales fairly with the size of your procedure.

Whether you’re considering FUE or FUT, here’s a breakdown of consultation fees and procedure costs by session size, so you can plan your treatment with confidence before booking.

Consultations

Video Consultation: £75

In-person Consultation with Trichoscopy and/or Medication review: £100

*The cost of consultations is deducted from the cost of surgery if booked.

Consultation fees are charged to secure a specifically allocated appointment date and time and are non-refundable in the event of failure to attend or cancellation on the day of the appointment. By proceeding with a booking, the patient agrees to this policy.

Hair Transplant Surgery (FUT and FUE)

At Parissis Medical, hair transplantation is surgeon-led and focused on achieving dense, natural results with careful long-term planning.

As a member of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS), Dr. Parissis is committed to personally performing all surgical incisions, or ‘cuts’, to the skin during your procedure.

This includes:

  • Extraction of the follicular unit grafts
  • Creation of all recipient sites, determining the position, direction, angle and distribution of the transplanted hairs

Implantation is carried out by both Dr. Parissis and his surgical team.

The team consists of carefully selected, highly experienced hair transplant technicians with approximately 5–10+ years of experience in hair restoration surgery.

Dr. Parissis personally oversees all aspects of the procedure with meticulous attention to detail. Our best results have been achieved using this exact method.

Your surgical fee includes:

  1. The procedure itself
  2. Post-operative aftercare bag
Everything required to care for your hair transplant during the initial healing period.
  3. 24/7 direct aftercare
You will be provided with Dr. Parissis’ personal mobile number following your procedure.
  4. Day 1 and Day 8 healing checks
Photographic reviews of the recipient and donor areas to assess healing.
  5. Ongoing follow-up
Follow-up is available whenever needed throughout your hair restoration journey, with routine reviews at 6 months and 12 months post-op to assess your healing and growth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hair Transplant Pricing

K
L
How much does a hair transplant cost in the UK?

Hair transplant costs in the UK vary depending on the clinic model. High-volume clinics typically charge between £2,000 and £5,000 per procedure, while surgeon-led clinics like Parissis Medical, where the same doctor is personally involved throughout, average around £6,000, reflecting the level of individual attention and technique involved.

K
L
What does the price of a hair transplant depend on?
Price is primarily based on the number of grafts required, which is assessed during a consultation. Larger sessions carry reduced per-graft rates, though the overall cost still increases with the number of grafts needed to achieve the desired density.
K
L
Is a consultation fee separate from the surgery cost?
Yes, initially. A video consultation costs £75, and an in-person consultation with trichoscopy and/or a medication review costs £100. If you go on to book surgery, this fee is deducted from your total procedure cost.
K
L
Do I need to pay a deposit to book a procedure?
Yes. A £2,000 deposit is required to schedule your procedure, which goes toward your total cost. The remaining balance is due once your exact graft number is confirmed on the day of surgery.
K
L
Are there any additional costs I should know about, like blood tests?
All patients are required to complete a blood test (covering HIV, Hepatitis B Surface Antigen, and Hepatitis C Antibody) before surgery. This can be done through your own doctor or a lab of your choice, so cost varies, but it's a required step separate from the quoted procedure price.

Why do hair transplant prices vary so much between clinics?
Costs differ based on clinic model. Larger, high-volume clinics can offer lower prices due to scale, while clinics with a single, closely involved surgeon, where the same person plans and performs your entire procedure, typically charge more, reflecting the level of personal accountability and consistency in results.

Is a more expensive hair transplant always better?
Not necessarily, but price often reflects the clinic's model. What matters most is understanding who will actually be performing your procedure and choosing a clinic whose approach matches your priorities, whether that's affordability or a highly personalised, surgeon-led experience.
